The Kiplin app allows synchronization with Health Connect, allowing you to work with as many apps and connected activity-tracking devices as possible.

Health Connect is a kind of secure vault provided by Google so you can keep control of your physical activity and wellness data. Indeed, only apps approved by Google can write and read data from it, provided you have authorized them.

For example, you can link your daily activity tracking app like Samsung Health or Android Fit to Health Connect. Kiplin will then be able to read the necessary data from Health Connect (and only the necessary data) for your daily progress.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of applications compatible with Health Connect : link

You will find Health Connect on your phone depending on the Android version :

  • Android 13 and earlier: Health Connect will be in the form of an application installable from the store: store

  • Android 14 and later, Health Connect is directly integrated into the Android operating system. You can then access the application through the phone's settings: (Settings > Applications > Health Connect)

Synchronization with Kiplin

To access this feature, you must first create a step tracker by selecting your phone as the data source.

Without this action, your app will not collect data, and synchronization with Health Connect will be useless.

To learn more about how Health Connect works:

  • Health Connect does not measure any activity; if no source application is connected to it, the "trunk" will remain empty. However, the Kiplin application will measure your activity in parallel, and this will then be taken into account.

  • You can absolutely connect multiple applications to Health Connect, the application will take care of smoothing the activity between the different data sources.

  • The value read by the Kiplin app in Health Connect may differ from the value displayed in your favorite source apps (Samsung Health, Google Fit, Polar Flow, etc.). Indeed, Health Connect reprocesses the data according to its own algorithms in order to remove inconsistent data, to have more realistic data over time, etc. This may inevitably happen if you have several source apps; in fact, Health Connect will modify/delete duplicate data.
