The Kiplin app uses Google services to measure your activity.

There are currently two versions of the Google step sensor in the application. The old version is no longer available for creation but remains functional for those who still have it. It will be removed in the coming months.

First, check that your step sensor has been created correctly and that there are no error messages.

Without this, the Kiplin app will not be able to retrieve your activity data.

You can find it on your profile page.

Previous generation steps sensor

Please install the Google Fit application and open it.

  • If you do not have any steps in the Google Fit app, the problem lies with Google. You will need to check that Google Fit has all the necessary permissions to recognise your activity.

  • If you have steps in Google Fit but none in the Kiplin app.

    • Check that you haven't:

      • added steps manually

      • modified existing activities

      • used apps that sync with Google Fit (we didn't accept external apps)

    • If all these conditions are met, please check the permissions granted to the Kiplin app in the Google Fit app:

      • Profile tab -> Settings -> Manage Connected Apps

    • Finally, you can delete your steps sensor and recreate one with our new system.

New generation steps sensor

  • You can unlink and recreate your sensor (only do this if you are at 0 steps, as the counter may be reset by Google).

  • Check that energy-saving mode is not enabled on your phone, as this may block step counting. If this is the case, disable it in your phone's settings. If your battery is low, step counting may also stop.

  • Finally, if this does not change anything, consider synchronising your application with Health Connect, which will allow you to use other applications as data sources, such as Google Fit or Samsung Health, for example.
