Discover the carbon counter

Kiplin, committed to the well-being of the planet and the health of its users, is taking advantage of Sustainable Urban Mobility Week 2024 to launch its Carbon Meter, a tool designed to promote greener mobility habits. Thanks to this counter, users can visualize the positive impact of their sustainable transportation choices on the environment.

🤔 Carbon meter or carbon footprint? 🌫️X👣

🌫️ Carbon meter: The carbon meter measures the amount of CO2 saved through activities such as walking or cycling, compared with using a fossil-fuel car. It translates kilometers walked or cycled into CO2 emissions avoided.

👣 Bilan carbone: The Bilan carbone, in partnership with Nos Gestes Climat, is an individual carbon footprint calculator. It lets you find out your annual impact thanks to an online test, and take action to reduce it based on personalized recommendations.

⚙️ How do they work?

🌫️ How the carbon counter works: The counter uses your physical activity data, retrieved via the sensor linked to Kiplin (Google Fit, Apple Health, Withings, Fitbit, Garmin, Social Ride) to calculate the distance you've covered. This distance is then converted into kilograms of CO₂ equivalent (kgCO₂e), which correspond to what would have been emitted if the same distance had been covered in a combustion car (see source 3).

👣 How the carbon footprint works: you answer a questionnaire about your habits and consumption. The assessment shows the environmental impact of these choices and suggests ways to reduce your carbon footprint. You can compare your lifestyle with that of your colleagues as part of your programme.

📝 And finally...

Opt for sustainable commuting habits, such as walking or cycling, to not only improve your health, but also breathe new life into our planet. Engage in practices such as composting, carpooling or eco-driving to further reduce your carbon footprint and become a true steward of our common future.
